We all love driving our classics – that’s what they’re there for. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a good drive to clear your mind or even a big adventure to discover somewhere new and soak in the sights through the windscreen, and you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to runs, tours and rallies in which you can explore the glorious countryside with like-minded enthusiasts.

30 APRIL-25 MAY

This event spans from John o’Groats to Land’s End, linking all of the MGCC’s regions on a fundraising mission for the Alzheimer’s Society and Lupus UK. There will be a series of road runs with regions passing the baton from one to the next as they go on with some important sites visited en route, such as the British Motor Museum, Kimber House and MG100 at Brooklands. . This all originates from Geoff Mansfield who in his 80th year took on JOGLE (John o’Groats to Land’s End) with his then 90-year-old car in 2021.

5-8 MAY

This tour takes in some excellent locations around England. Day one starts out with a brilliant collection of petrol-head places – the Bentley showrooms in Crewe and Oulton Park – before aiming for Cholmondeley Castle, the Shropshire Hills and more. The tour continues over the subsequent days through the Forest of Dean, Malvern Hills and Severn Valley Steam Railway. For three nights away, it’s a well-packaged tour with plenty to see. Before you balk at the price for this one, factor in what’s included and what the average holiday incorporating less than this trip offers could cost.
