Pet Shop Boys have revealed details of their new studio album Nonetheless, which sees the duo return home to their original label Parlophone.

Scheduled for release on 26 April, the 10-track Nonetheless is helmed by James Ford. It’s the first time that Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have worked with the acclaimed producer, who has overseen albums by the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Blur and Gorillaz. Nonetheless’ lead track Loneliness was previewed on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 show on 31 January.

Recorded and mixed in the capital following sessions at Ford’s East London studio in 2023, the new album will also feature orchestral parts laid down at The Church studio.

In a press statement about the LP, Pet Shop Boys said: “We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human. From the more dance-oriented tracks to the raw poignancy of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string arrangements, each [song] tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.
