1 FIND COLOURS THAT COMPLEMENT YOUR SKIN TONE

When you’re looking to wear bright colours, you have to look at your skin tone. I have darker skin and that does definitely bless me as most colours look good on me. If you’re paler, certain colours might wash you out, so try it on to test against your skin. And remember, in every colour there’s at least five different shades, so it’s worth figuring out what works best for you. In my opinion, everybody looks good in pink!

2 TAILOR TO YOUR SHAPE

I think my favourite look was my black gown at the BAFTAs. I had that dress tailored to my shape by a bespoke clothing brand called Millie’s Fashion. Yes, it was black, but it was sheer so you could see all of that melanin popping and I had my red lipstick on and felt absolutely gorgeous!

3 FLATTER WITH A HIGH-WAISTED FIT

River Island has a great curve selection – especially their denim. I like high-waisted jeans because they’re very flattering on the tummy area. I also love the slick black leggings in my Very collection– they’re fantastic to wear with anything. RIVER ISLAND PLUS £35

4 BUILD A CAPSULE WARDROBE

I’ve saved money on clothes in the past by getting key black items that you can mix and match with different pieces in your wardrobe. Slick black jeans, a nice shirt, and a good blazer are all great versatile pieces that can be worn in so many different ways.

5 INVEST IN AN LBD

One of my favourite pieces in my new collection with Very is the little black dress. Oooh girl! It’s got puff sleeves, it’s a little bit sheer on the arms, it’s a comfy knit material and has studs down the arms and back. So sexy, so diva, and so slick and stylish.
