How much do you spend per week?
About £150 for the four of us. I enjoy cooking for my two sons to make sure that they eat well. I’m very fussy about buying free-range products so I always shop in store.
Describe your daily diet…
For breakfast I eat porridge with banana and I make fruit smoothies with my Nutribullet. If I’m at the Emmerdale studio, I’ll have hash browns, baked beans and mushrooms around 11am and, for lunch, I often go to a Sicilian café for some arancini or a slice of pizza and maybe some cannoli for dessert. We all eat dinner together around 7.30pm and I always cook from scratch, either a Vietnamese beef broth, which is spicy and hearty, or a Chicken Milano with lots of broccoli.
Is there anything you refuse to eat
I went to a fancy Mexican restaurant recently and they served me a golden cricket. It was beautifully presented but I couldn’t eat it.
Strangest thing you’ve eaten?
To impress a guy I was smitten with, I once tried Nigerian snails – but I wouldn’t do that again!
What would you cook to impress?
