The First Dates favourite tells Closer about wooing his fiancée, his bromance with Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo and his new TV show
H datingshow First Dates, having helped countless singletons find love. And when Closer catches up with Fred Sirieix, 51, he reveals that when he and his fiancée – known only by her nickname of “Fruitcake” – plan a date night together, they like to keep things simple.
“We make love!” the loveable maitre d’ tells Closer, adding, “We do lots of things – we go to the theatre, we go to restaurants, we walk, we watch TV and we laugh. It’s all about quality time and you can only have that with people you enjoy the company of.”
Despite being born and raised in France, Fred has become a national treasure in the UK. He first appeared on our screens in the First Dates restaurant, and now regularly features on a range of shows such as Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip and Celebrity Gogglebox.

And while he’s a famous face, Fred – who is dad to Olympic diver Andrea, 18, and Lucien, 13, from a previous relationship – keeps his personal life private, only going public with Fruitcake in 2020 when they got engaged.
In recent years, he’s been more open about their relationship, sharing pictures of them together on social media, taking her to red carpet events and starring on Celebrity Gogglebox – and fans love their chemistry.
