INTERVIEW

The Boyzlife star tells Closer about past relationships, his bond with his daughters and why he’d love more

They became every pop mmusic fan’s dream couple in the ’90s, when Westlife’s Brian McFadden tied the knot with Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona, both aged just 22. While their romance ended somewhat bitterly amid claims he cheated, they’ve both happily moved on. And with Brian now gearing up for his third marriage – this time to PE teacher Danielle Parkinson, 41 – he tells Closer he has no regrets.

Brian says, “You live and learn, you go through life living and learning! Getting married is a great thing, but if the marriage isn’t working there’s nothing wrong in walking away from each other. I have no regrets about any of my marriages or any of my relationships. Everything I’ve gone through in my life has got me to where I am today. I’m now the happiest I’ve ever been.”

WAR OF WORDS

Brian, 42, first rose to fame in boyband Westlife, before marrying Kerry, now 42, in 2002 following a whirlwind romance, welcoming their first daughter Molly, now 21, that same year.

But despite their love story, their two-year marriage ended shortly after welcoming second daughter Lilly-Sue, now 20, with a bitter break-up unfolding. Brian previously said in 2019 that “the day my marriage ended was that stag night,” later revealing he had cheated on his soon-to-be Ruby wife with a lap dancer. What followed was a bitter war of words – with Brian branding his ex-wife a “pig-faced mole,” while Kerry dubbed him “the fat one from Westlife.” But in recent years, the pair have made amends, with Kerry revealing to Closer in 2019, “Brian and I are on good terms, and it’s taken us a hell of a long time to get to where we are.”
