The model and presenter tells Closer her secrets to health, happiness and looking fab at 51
She’s become a huge advocate forwomen experiencing the menopause, but Lisa Snowdon’s flawless complexion appears to have barely aged in the three decades that have passed since she first rose to fame. The star champions natural therapies and takes care of her wellbeing with good food, exercise and “love, laughter and happiness”, but she tells Closer she hasn’t ruled out ever going under the knife.
When Closer catches up with Lisa, 51, at the Neon Future Dreams event at Roundhouse, London, she says, “I’d never say never. There are some incredible things you can do to prevent having to actually go under the knife. Microplaning, facial acupuncture and lots of non-invasive treatments to lift and tighten, but each to their own – if that’s what you want to do, and it makes you happy, then go for it.”
REKINDLING
Lisa takes collagen pills and powder to help plump up her skin, and she swears by facial acupuncture for keeping her happiness and wellbeing on track. The treatment involves having multiple fine needles inserted in your ears, ankles, arms and face.
Scouted as a model at 19, Lisa fast became one of Britain’s top supermodels, modelling for the likes of Gucci, Mercedes and Dove, as well as gracing every magazine cover, including Vogue, GQ, and FHM – which voted her one of the “sexiest women in the world” for ten years running.
Lisa – whose latest project is her new book, Just Getting Started: Lessons In Life, Love And Menopause – was also a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model. Her sense of humour and beauty certainly captivated actor George Clooney, who she dated on and off between 2000 and 2005, before rekindling her relationship with former flame, creative agency founder George Smart. The pair had a “little fling” 20 years ago, but reunited in 2015, before he popped the question the following year.
