Anna Mathur, psychotherapist and author of new book, Raise A Happier Mother, tells us how we can find space to look after ourselves – both physically and emotionally – when we’re busy looking after everyone else

Anna Mathur has shelves of parenting books. As a mum-of-three, the psychotherapist has read everything on weaning, sleeping and toddler behaviour. But her new release is not one to add to her collection. Her book is about how to look after you when you’re busy raising children – and that it shouldn’t be a luxury. “We want our children to be nourished, well rested, valued and have strong identity – but what about you?” Anna says. “When we look after ourselves as parents, we will naturally have more resources for our children.” Read on for Anna’s tips on how to find space when life is hectic.
