MAFS UK star Mark Kiley talks dinner-party drama, dealing with backlash and his sneaky early-morning pamper sessions
When he joined MAFS UK as an intruder couple with TV groom Sean Malkin, Mark Kiley was branded a diva after delaying his wedding by several hours over the wrong shirt.
And the customer services manager – who stresses he wanted to look perfect for his husband – reveals to Closer how Sean has helped him come to terms with himself – and made him rethink his early-morning beauty regime.
“Sometimes I’d wake up at 4am to quickly fake tan, brush my hair and pretend, ‘Look, I’ve just got out of bed.’ But I just felt so at ease with Sean. He was so reassuring, so kind,” he recalls.
Admitting that he’s also been labelled a “spoiled child” and a “brat”, Mark, 36, says that his portrayal on the show is the ‘real him’ and he hopes the public narrative shifts.
“Watching back as a viewer, I can see that this is my true self,” he notes. “The hate I got after day one was unreal. It has been a bit horrible, social media-wise, but thankfully it’s been nothing but lovely meeting the public outside. I’m hoping that at the end of MAFS, I will be seen in a bett
