Insiders say Amanda Holden has been left reeling and humiliated after her ex spoke out
She’s become one of the UK’s most successful TV stars, with a flourishing presenting career, a happy marriage and two daughters set to follow in her showbiz footsteps.
But last week, Amanda Holden’s painful past came back to haunt her when actor Neil Morrissey – with whom she famously had an affair in 2000 while married to comedian Les Dennis, 70 – made a crude joke about the fling, which led to the breakdown of her seven-year marriage and left her career hanging in the balance.
Appearing on the Restless Natives podcast, the former Men Behaving Badly star, 61, joked, “Don’t f*** a game show host’s wife”, in reference to Les, who at the time presented Family Fortunes.

Neil’s quip – which was one part of his three pieces of life advice – was met with roars of laughter from the show’s hosts, Line Of Duty star Martin Compton and journalist Gordon Smart.
And pals say 52-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda – who has daughters, Lexi, 18, and Hollie, 12, with record producer husband Chris Hughes – has been left hurt by her former flame’s comment.
A source says, “Amanda was furious when she heard Neil’s remark – she thought it was flippant and insensitive for not only thrusting the worst time in her life back into the spotlight, but also for having no regard for her feelings and the effect his thoughtless comment would have on her and her family.
