Last year delivered some of the most dazzling, damaging and devastating showbiz stories yet. Now, as we ring in another year in the world of celebrity, Closer asks psychic Sally Morgan what our favourite stars have in store
SAM THOMPSON AND JOSIE GIBSON
Sally says 2024 will be a big year for I’m A Celebrity! winner Sam Thompson and his fellow campmate Josie Gibson. After hanging up his Made In Chelsea boots in 2021, Sam, 31, has been on various panel shows, but his jungle stint saw his popularity shoot through the roof. Sally says, “I think he’ll do a TV show with Tony Bellew and he has his podcast tour with Pete Wicks, so he’ll be on the road a lot in 2024. I think there’ll be lots more TV opportunities for him, too, and possible presenting gigs on the horizon.”
Big Brother winner Josie’s career sky-rocketed in 2023, with her stepping up to co-host This Morning following the departure of Phillip Schofield and later Holly Willoughby. Sally says of the mum-of-one, “It’s Josie’s year – she’ll go through the stratosphere. She’s going to grab most things with both hands, and you can’t blame her. I think she’ll do a big TV show with Alison Hammond.
She adds that the 38-year-old’s love life is on the up, too. “There’s a man on the horizon for Josie and I also see a move to London for her work commitments.”
LAUREN GOODGER
In 2022, Lauren Goodger’s life hit rock bottom after she tragically lost her daughter, Lorena, just moments after her birth. She was then allegedly attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Charles Drury, on the day of Lorena’s funeral. He appeared in court back in July, but denied all the charges. The heartbreaking loss also happened just days after Lauren’s ex, Jake McLean, died in a car crash.
But now Lauren, 37, is ready to “get back on track” – moving into a new home with two-year old Larose and restarting her fitness and health journey. Sally says, “Lauren will continue on her long journey of emotional healing this year, and a new home and fitness goals will give her a renewed focus. She feels she needs a man’s company around her, but she’s very nervous to get close to someone unfamiliar. There’s a familiarity with her ex, but I don’t see them getting back together permanently.”
She adds that financially, 2024 isn’t great for Lauren, but things will pick up towards the end of the year. “At the end of October, something will happen to give Lauren her mojo back.”
