DORIA’S BID TO HELP MEGHAN & HARRY
As she moves in with daughter Meghan Markle and son-in-law Prince Harry, insiders say Doria Ragland has been a “huge blessing” for the family as a grandmother-turned-marriage-guru
Having stood proudly by her daughter’s side since she married Prince Harry in May 2018, Doria Ragland is the sole member of Meghan Markle’s family who has remained loyal to the Sussexes throughout their ongoing feud with the Royal Family, as well as her famous fallout with her estranged dad and sister.
Yet despite Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, leaving their royal life behind and upping sticks to Montecito, California, in 2020, where they now live with son Archie, four, and two-year old daughter Lilibet, Doria was around a three-hour drive away in LA –making it difficult to see her daughter and her grandchildren.
But last week it was reported that yoga instructor Doria has now moved into the family guest house on the grounds of their £11.4 million mansion. Now a source tells Closer the 67-year-old is proving a huge hit for all of the family as their “in-house-guru”, which has unexpectedly been working miracles for Meghan and Harry’s six-year marriage.
The source says, “Harry always jokes that Doria’s their ‘in-house guru’, but it’s not far off. Any time they’re having trouble making a decision or arguing about something, she’s the first person they turn to.

“Doria is so much more than a mother-in-law. Harry looks to her for advice and support whenever he’s struggling. If he’s had a disagreement with Meghan, instead of wading in head-on, he’ll ask Doria for her take on it first.”
The insider also reveals that, when arguments between Harry –who Meghan has previously revealed sought help for his explosive temper when they first started dating –and her daughter can’t be solved easily between them, Doria happily steps in to talk it through with them both the situation.
The source adds, “She’s very good about remaining neutral and not just taking Meghan’s side. She really looks at the whole picture and, if needed, she’ll sit them both down and act as their mediator.
“She’s been a yoga teacher since the 1970s and has a huge amount of knowledge when it comes to self-development and spiritual practices.”
Ever since stepping down as senior royals in 2020, and the ensuing furore caused by their explosive Oprah interview in 2021, their Netflix series and Harry’s memoir, Spare, many royal experts have questioned whether Harry and Meghan’s relationship would last the distance.
