Homesick Harry ‘feels guilty emotional’ about Kate

With the royals in crisis as King Charles and Kate Middleton both undergo surgery, an insider says Prince Harry has been left feeling guilty over the deepening rift with his loved ones

The Royal Family has been thrown into a new crisis with King Charles undergoing an operation on his prostate this week, while Kate Middleton’s abdominal operation was said to be likely to see her spend up to two weeks in hospital.

And with Prince William, 41, dashing to be by his wife’s side and taking care of their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and five-year-old Prince Louis – and shamed Prince Andrew dismissed from royal life in 2022, “The Firm” has seen the number of working royals halved until Kate, 42, resumes duty after Easter.

Now, with the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feeling more stark than ever since they stepped down from royal life in 2020, the family are desperately seeking solutions while trying to recover. And a source tells Closer that the recent events have left the Sussexes feeling emotional.

The insider says, “Harry and Meghan were hit by the news of Kate’s hospitalisation and King Charles’ operation. While relations are of course still strained, they have been in touch with the King’s office.

“Although a lot has gone on, times like this have reminded them that life is short and family is important. It obviously won’t heal everything overnight, but it has made Harry think about things differently.

“The whole thing has brought up lot of emotions for Harry, who very much still loves his father and sister-in-law – one of those being a slight sense of guilt about what’s happened and how much they’ve all grown apart.”

The last time Harry reached out to his father was during a brief phone call to wish Charles a happy 75th birthday in November, which followed a six-month silence.

MENDING BRIDGES

However, with Omid Scobie’s explosive new royal tell-all, Endgame, being released just days later with yet more bombshells – including the allegation that Charles and Kate had been the senior royals to make comments over Meghan and Harry’s son Archie’s skin colour, something which the Palace declined to comment on – the bitter rift between the families has only deepened.
