As she gears up for her big TV comeback, pals say unlucky-in-love Lauren Goodger is hoping to finally find The One
She’s set to make her big TOWIE comeback next month after an 11-year absence from the reality show that made her a household name.
And pals say Lauren Goodger, 37 – who was part of the original 2010 line-up as Lothario Mark Wright’s childhood sweetheart – is hoping her return will help her find love again.
A source tells Closer, “Lauren’s been through hell and back over the last two years and she’s ready to end the cycle of heartache and toxic relationships and find long-lasting happiness.
FAIRY-TALE ENDING
“She finds it hard to date as she can’t just go on the apps like everyone else due to her public profile. And, being a single mum, she doesn’t get out much, so she really hopes returning to TOWIE will open up opportunities to find a new man and fall in love again.
“She’s already got her eye on a couple of the cast members and is really close to Amy [Childs], who’s keen to set her up with hot singles on the show.
“Lauren’s happy for her love life to be her main storyline – but this time around she wants a healthy, loving relationship with a fairy-tale ending.”
Lauren’s turbulent on/ off relationship with former fiancé Mark, 37, was the main focus of her two-year stint on the show before their final split in 2012, which led to her departure from the ITV series.
Despite a brief return in 2015 for the Christmas special, her personal life has continued to make headlines off screen – with the star continuing to endure a string of high-profile toxic romances.
The mum-of-one was also left grief-stricken following the tragic loss of her second daughter, Lorena, who died shortly after birth in July 2022.
HEARTACHE
Her tragic death came six months after Lauren’s bitter split from Lorena’s father, Charles Drury, 26, with whom she also shares two-year-old daughter, Larose.
In November, the former couple were pictured together for the first time since Charles was charged with assault and coercive control in August 2022, following an alleged incident at Lorena’s funeral.
Last July, he appeared in court accused of assaulting Lauren at various points throughout their two-year relationship, and was released on bail after pleading not guilty. The amateur footballer is due to appear in court next month for a second preliminary trial.
Shortly after Lorena’s death, Lauren was left further grief-stricken when her ex, Jake McLean, 33 – who she dated from 2012 to 2016 – died in a car accident in Turkey.
