1 ALICE & JACK
LOVE STORY WED 14 / THU 15 FEB, 9PM, C4
Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter, Ex Machina) and Andrea Riseborough (National Treasure) star as the title characters in this wonderful drama infused with some great comedy moments. City executive Alice and scientist Jack get together via a dating app, and when they meet in a bar, it’s clear from the get-go that she is somewhat troubled. After a one-night stand, Alice doesn’t seem to want to take things further, but there’s a definite spark between them. Over six episodes, the story of their 15-year relationship unfolds, with both Gleeson and Riseborough giving outstanding performances. Abig shout-out to Sunil Patel as Jack’s best friend, Paul, who gets some of the best lines, and Aisling Bea as Lynn, the other woman in Jack’s life. Brilliant TV.

PENULTIMATE ADVENTURE

Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond head to the country of Mauritania in Africa – following in the footsteps of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally (the daddy of all desert races). They go to the ambassador’s house but, sadly, there’s not a tray of Ferrero Rocher in sight! Disappointing.
