REAL LIFE

SUPERSIZED FAMILY

The Yahweh family live together in marital bliss – and all five wives are not only in love with their husband, but with each other…

When Jazmin Yahweh first met her husband 10 years ago, she already knew that he had another wife. But far from putting her off, she embraced the non-monogamous lifestyle – and even introduced another woman into the relationship.

FAMILY

Over the next three years, two more women came to live with them. And far from their family being complete, they’re open to more wives joining, though they don’t want another man.

Jazmin, 33, who has five children, two from a previous relationship, explains, “I’ve never been into conventional relationships and had flirted with polyamory before, so this suits me perfectly. It works on every level. We are all in love with each other, all the wives have sexual relationships and friendships as well as our relationships with our husband. Our kids are all content and love the arrangement and we are one very big but very happy family.”

Jazmin didn’t like monogamy

The family use the name Yahweh to signify their commitment to each other as they can’t legally marry. It consists of husband Yahweh Poetic, 39, who has two children from a previous marriage; Debash, 42, who has three children with Poetic; Jazmin and Paige, 32, who had two children previously and has gone on to have twins; Madi, 29, who had a previous child and is trying to conceive with Poetic at the moment, and Krystal, 36, who had two children from a previous relationship and now has one more with Poetic. The children range in age from 20 to one and they all live together and share finances.

Jazmin, who previously had open relationships, met Poetic online through Facebook. She explains, “He’s a musician and I loved his music and he reached out to me. He was always very honest and told me he had a life partner but that they were looking to add to their arrangement. He also told me that they wanted more than just one other equal partner – which I was happy about.

A large and happy clan

“We went on a few dates before he introduced me to Debash. I was so nervous when I met her as I really wanted her to be comfortable with me joining them. Thankfully, we hit it off immediately and within months we were all living together. I don’t have a jealous bone in my body and I feel that the more people you love and are loved by, the better your life will be. With monogamy I always felt as though something was missing, this way I have a big family, which I’ve always wanted.

“I introduced Paige into the arrangement a year later. I knew her through mutual friends as we were brought up in the same place.”

Over the next four years the other women, who Yahweh met online, joined. Jazmin explains, “We all make
