The Sussexes want to make amends after finding out about Kate’s cancer shock
Her upsetting cancer diagnosis continues to cause shockwaves, and insiders say the revelation about Kate Middleton’s health has left Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reeling and struggling with feelings of guilt.
The Princess of Wales stunned the nation when she recorded a public video message about her condition –which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had no idea about until it was made public. They quickly put out a message on their social media, saying, “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace”. They also contacted Kate and William after they heard about her illness, according to reports. But behind closed doors, we’re told that Kate’s news has left Harry and Meghan feeling guilty over their actions and how outspoken they’ve been about the royals. Our source reveals that Harry, who once called Kate “the sister he never had”, has taken it the hardest, particularly as it’s come so soon after his father King Charles’ own cancer diagnosis.

They’ve had their differences lately, but this news has put it all in perspective for Harry. He’s realised how trivial most of the problems were and he’s determined to patch things up. Harry’s kicking himself, questioning everything that’s been said, publicly and privately, and worrying about the hurt he’s caused. He feels awful and is worried sick about his sister-in-law. He wishes there was more he could do.”
Harry and Meghan weren’t told of Kate’s diagnosis before she opened up about her condition in a moving and emotional video address, admitting that it has been “an incredibly tough couple of months for the entire family”. Cancerous cells were found after her abdominal surgery in January. “Tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she revealed.
Kate, 42, who said that her “focus is on making a full recovery”, added, “I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal: in my mind, body and spirit. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love and kindness that has been shown by so many of you.”
