Following shock news of their marriage breakdown, insiders say Isla Fisher has been turning to close pals Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox to get through her split from Sacha Baron Cohen
Their split sent shockwaves around the world last week as Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen – once named one of Hollywood’s strongest couples – announced they had secretly ended their 13-year-marriage last year.
And while the rumour-mill surrounding their marriage breakdown continued to swirl, insiders tell Closer how Isla, 48, has been supported by her “besties” – Friends stars Courteney Cox, 59, and Jennifer Aniston, 55.
The source says, “Courteney and Jen were two of the first friends she opened up to over a year ago when the marriage started crumbling – admitting how unhappy she was and turning to them for guidance and support at a time when she was at her lowest after recently losing her beloved father.
“Having both gone through painful divorces and being two of her oldest and dearest friends, Courteney and Jen were there for her through the very painful process. They guided her through her lowest moments and gently helped her come to the painful realisation that it was best to end the relationship rather than hang onto it only to be unhappy for the sake of the children.”
In a joint statement on their Instagram accounts, the actors – who share daughters Olive, 16, Elula, 13, and nine-year-old son, Montgomery – said, “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we’re finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage.”

Posing in tennis outfits in a snap alongside their unconventional announcement, the couple – who first met at a party in Sydney 20 years ago – continued, “We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
And the source says that Jen and Courteney have been a huge support to Isla, adding, “Isla spent many nights on the phone with Courteney and Jen. She has understandably been heartbroken and is trying to remain strong for the children. She’s been so grateful to them both for remaining her rocks during the toughest time in her life. It’s brought her closer than ever to them.” The threesome have been close pals for years – with Isla first meeting Courteney and Jen during their days on Friends in the late ’90s.
