1 THE RESPONDER

SEASON TWO LANDS! SUN 5 MAY, 9PM, BBC1

This gritty and utterly gripping drama about a morally dubious cop working the night shift in Liverpool was a massive hit when it aired in 2022, and now it’s back for a highly anticipated second season. The action kicks off six months after the last series, and urgent response officer Chris (Martin Freeman) is still dealing with the fact that his wife Kate (MyAnna Buring) has left him for dodgy copper Raymond (Warren Brown) – but now she’s thinking about moving to London and taking Chris’ daughter with her. Meanwhile, his previous police partner, Rachel, is working with a more conventional officer… for now, at least. Can Chris deal with his demons and stay on the straight and narrow for the sake of his mental health (and his daughter)? Strap yourselves in, it’s gonna be a bumpy – and highly addictive – ride.
