Surprise! Nish turns up on the doorstep of No 41, armed with divorce-related news – but absolutely no one is pleased to see him. There’s talk of getting the locks changed, but then he silences Suki, Ravi, Eve, Vinny and co with something of a bombshell: He’s dying! The Panesars think Nish is telling porkies and kick him out, but when Ravi gives him a welcome home shove, Nish falls and is rushed to hospital, where the truth will out! Also on the agenda this week is a girls’ night out for Elaine, Gina and Anna. Cindy gets the boot – but has the last laugh when she spends the evening running The Vic with George. Elaine’s revenge? Tell Ian about Cindy kissing George. Ouch.

Ethan is determined to make the most of his final hours of freedom – by earwigging on a conversation between Ruby and Rose. BIG mistake, as he ends up telling Charles about some concerns he has for Dawn, and later, Charles discovers Ethan collapsed on the floor. Dawn listens to the voicemail, and Charles is terrified as he fears the worst – could it be that the two incidents are linked? Elsewhere, nosey parkers Leyla, Suzie and Liam try to uncover Ella’s secret, while Tom tries to stop Lydia from visiting Belle.

“Charles has been helping Ethan cope with the accident (drink driving which led to a car crash and pal Nicky being in a coma) and facing the consequences of his actions. Father and son are quite united, Ethan is going to do the right thing…” On finding Ethan collapsed, Kevin adds, “They’re getting ready for court, bonding. Charles is letting Ethan know whatever happens, they’ll face it together. But he realises he’s not getting any response – then he finds Ethan on the floor, and he just goes into emergency mode, he has no clue what’s going on. He’s relieved when Manpreet shows up, but Ethan’s not responding and Charles is panicked…”
