We know the drill by now: Abunch of beautiful people spend a number of weeks together to try to find everlasting love, with Iain Stirling’s dulcet tones providing the amusing commentary. The rumour mill is on overdrive with names of potential Islanders (most revealed nearer to the show start date) but we can expect gorgeous model-types rocking swimwear who are sure to make a big impression with viewers. Love Island: Aftersun also returns, hosted by Maya Jama, with Sam Thompson and Indiyah Polack joined by celebrity guests to discuss all the weekly goings-on.

Set in Wales, it’s the story of “artiste-extraordinaire” Gabriel (Sion Daniel Young) and his partner, Andy (Fra Fee), who are attempting to adopt 7-year-old Jake. Elizabeth Berrington stars too.

Opening with a scene in which Queenie, a 25-yearold British-Jamaican social-media assistant (played brilliantly by Dionne Brown) is having her lady garden examined by a disinterested nurse, this is a fresh, beautifully written show with a big heart that absolutely should not be missed.
