With rumours swirling that Kate Middleton’s return to public life is imminent, sources say that Meghan Markle has been hoping to build bridges with her sister-in-law

She has been out of the spotlight for six months battling through her health issues. But insiders now say that Kate Middleton’s comeback to the spotlight is imminent.

As Closer went to press, it was unclear whether or not she would make an appearance at the annual Trooping the Colour, as she issued a public statement saying she was “very sorry” to be unable to make the rehearsal.

But whether or not she makes an appearance, a royal source told Closer at an event held in conjunction with the Princess of Wales' foundation, “Kate’s return to public duty will be soon. She knows how much she has been missed and she is keen to get back to work whenever she can.”

They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they’re both relieved and happy to hear that she’s on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties.

Kate announced her illness in May

“They’ve jointly reached out to send well wishes, but they’re still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response. That hasn’t stopped them from trying to connect and do what they see as the right thing. When Kate gets back into action, their hope is that it might take some of the heat off them and possibly trigger a truce with her and William, and with the King, too.”

Concerns about Kate's wellbeing began in January when Kensington Palace issued a statement informing the public she had undergone planned abdominal surgery and was “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter”.

She then blindsided the world in March when she announced, “Tests after the operation found cancer had been present”, and that she was in the early stages of chemot
