Take to the crystal blue waters on Guernsey.

Imagine listening to the gentle clinking of halyards in the marina as you sip a freshly-brewed coffee and watching the lingering flecks of the morning’s sunrise on the horizon, contemplating the day ahead. Frequently described as the most peaceful and beautiful marina in the English Channel, Beaucette enjoys spectacular views of the French coast and the other five Channel Islands, Alderney, Herm, Sark, Jethou and Jersey.

It’s the perfect base from which to explore the island’s northern tip, with its winding coastal paths, sweeping bays and charming fishing harbour, Bordeaux. Whether you enjoy a gentle hike, or love to adventure on two wheels, you really can explore straight from the door of your accommodation. Discover unspoilt fortresses and panoramic views across golden sands, spotting birds swooping at the water’s edge as you go.

Stay for four nights in one of our brand new Plankbridge shepherd’s huts. Each is named after one of the islands it looks onto: Herm, Alderney, Sark and Jethou and is lovingly furnished with a king size bed, ensuite shower room and fully-fitted kitchen, including oven and fridge freezer. All the huts are fully heated and each also has a wood-burning stove to toast chilly toes after wintry walks.

Kick-start your day by cooking up a full English breakfast on the family-size barbecue and you’ll be ready for any adventure. Explore the coastal path from Beaucette to Fort Le Marchant, built to withstand the French invasion in around 1680. From there, catch sweeping views of Pembroke Bay, an ideal spot for some wild swimming or even paddleboarding.

After working up an appetite, head back to Beaucette for a locally-caught crab sandwich and chilled glass of Sancerre on the terrace at Saltwater Restaurant, where you can relax and enjoy the hustle and bustle of boats going in and out of the marina. You may even spot our resident cormorant fishing in and around the yachts.

For those looking for more adrenalinefilled pursuits, you can join our experienced partner, Seascape on a coastal rib safari taking you in and around the waters of our neighbouring islands. There’s always the chance of spotting a puffin or two and coming across some friendly dolphins, a shoal of tuna or the odd seal sunbathing on a well-positioned rock.

Elsewhere, there are hidden treasures to be found. Led by a local botanist, you will learn about the algae and edible plant life of the area, some of it unique to the island, then our chef will show you how to incorporate them into your cooking.
