A return to her homeland has proved to be good for the soul for one Cornish businesswoman

The coastline near Highcliffe is stunning. INSET Becca is enjoying a more relaxing pace of life in Cornwall.

Becca Mably’s morning commute has changed hugely since she moved back to her homeland of Cornwall in 2020. Raised in Trebetherick in north Cornwall, Becca left home to spend nearly a decade in London working in the music industry managing pop stars around the globe. But when the opportunity to take on Highcliffe, the family business arose, and the chance to enjoy a slower pace of life she packed her bags and headed west.

Becca reveals: “I am an early bird, so I am always up by 5.30am. First up, a hot lemon and tea! I need to get out of the house in the morning, so if the sea is looking inviting, I’ll walk down to nearby Greenaway Beach for a swim.

“This time of day is sacred for me, before everyone is awake and the world is still quiet. In the summer, we will run around the coast path and finish at the beach to jump in the sea to cool off. The short walk back home, soaking wet and barefoot, is one of my favourite things in the entire world.

“I am fortunate enough to be able to see the ocean from my house, and I find it incredibly calming and grounding. I also love the slower pace of life in Cornwall, I’m naturally someone who likes to go a million miles an hour, so this environment is good for me.

“For me, no two days are the same. I usually spend a couple days a week at our family business, Highcliffe – a collection of holiday homes on Cornwall’s north coast - and the rest I work from home.
