From city-break sightseeing to long hikes… to the corner shop, team Cosmo tests out the comfiest and sturdiest sandals just in time for festival season

WOMEN’S COLUMBIA SANDAL, £65

If you’re after supportive sandals you can wear all day, these are a solid option. The black colourway is versatile – perfect for teaming with denim cut-offs or linen shirt dresses, making them my MVP for summer holidays. As for the ‘specs’, the adjustable padded strap kept my feet in place while the sole was sturdy yet lightweight.

MERRELL HYDRO MOC WITH BLOOM, £55

I’ve truly fallen in love with these sandals. They made me feel as though I was walking on air – and they elevated every outfit, too. From commuting in the city to a stroll in the park, my feet have never been happier. The marble design went perfectly with my beige wide-legged trousers and a white tank top, too. Comfort in fashion is key.

BIRKENSTOCK ARIZONA SPLIT, £105

I took these on a beach holiday to Portugal and honestly, they were a dream. They were so comfortable that the soles felt as though they’d been designed especially for my feet. I could easily wear them for hours, teamed with my denim shorts for sightseeing or paired with a beach cover-up for when I’m hanging out by the pool.
