Welcome to the world of beauty witchcraft

It ’s nothing to do with trading your mascara wand for a magic one, FYI

The spring equinox marks a special time spiritually and astrologically. Falling in March (the 20th) as the world blooms and brightens up, it heralds fresh starts and new beginnings. Yes, beauty included. For some, it might be taking the plunge with a new haircut or colour, or dabbling in a tweakment, while for others it’s trying out an alternative route to a new season glow-up: witchcraft, and you’re about to see it everywhere this spring.

Of course, witchcraft has been a thing for centuries, but when lockdown had us all searching for ‘meaning’, a lot of the same beliefs and practices started gaining traction again (with a modern, 21st-century twist, obvs). That’s your feeling reflected back at you. That’s how beauty exists.’ Once we acknowledge that, she says, then we can begin to celebrate that beauty in ourselves. ‘Glamour magick is how you magnify that, so your beauty is inherent to you.’ She encourages us all to reframe our desire to be beautiful when exploring glamour magick. ‘Instead of saying, “I want to be beautiful,” you say, “I radiate the frequency of love and harmony. I radiate the frequency of beauty. I am a muse and people are inspired by my beauty.”’

Putting it into practice

Now you understand its purpose, it’s time to harness the magic. Venus – the goddess of love and beauty – and rose quartz crystals, w
