It does work!

You asked for lost and found property stories… When I got home after spending the Bank Holiday in Sidmouth, I realised I’d lost one of my favourite Jack Wolfskin gloves which has seen me through many a cold wet winter. I was very upset, but I kept the other one ‘just in case’. On the next Bank Holiday weekend, we were again in Sidmouth and on our regular evening walk through the Salcombe Regis valley. Imagine my surprise when I saw a single glove on a fence post. Could it be? I tried it on and, it fitted like a glove, it was my lost glove! Thank you so much to the person who put my glove on the fence post so we could be reunited nearly a month later.

Where’s Kes?

Every month our favourite spaniel Kes goes walkies somewhere in the issue, and we want him back! Can you help find Kes?

Kes the conkercolour Cocker is an inveterate explorer, often finding his way into the unlikeliest of places when we’re busy putting the magazine together. In fact he’s hiding out in this issue for you to find! Spot him (not on this page) and you could win over £47 worth of Mountain Paws goodies - just email the page number where you found Kes, along with your address, to: ifoundkes@LFTO.com by 3 November 2023 putting ‘Kes November’ in the subject line. Congrats to Lynn Grant from Merseyside, who spotted Kes in the woods on p71 of the September issue, and wins this month’s prize!

One thing I noticed is in the walks section the routes on Wetherlam and Crosby Garrett Fell are both described as having no public transport. In fact Stagecoach runs an hourly service to Coniston from Ambleside, and Blueworks operates a weekday service from Ulverston to Coniston. On Mondays and Wednesdays the Crosby Garrett Fell starting in Newbiggin-on-Lun
