Take a pineapple for a walk

John Eaton’s epic wander with walkers from the #walk1000miles challenge, Walk & Talk 4 Men St. Neots and Walk & Talk 4 Women St. Neots. Taking in the Ouse Valley Way for up to 12 miles ‘Great to meet up with the challengers and remake old acquaintances and create new ones. Pineapples away!’

Sonia Peirson completed The Cleveland Way with Penny, who became a sweet reward in the end.

Louise Lester went on a tiny bimble to Boveney Church, not far from where the first pineapple grown in the UK was raised.

Debbie Clark and friend Christine had a lovely walk and a chat while being entertained by Pippa the Pineapple. ‘I think it’s fruit salad for tea, so that might be the last of Pippa’s adventures…’

Find a feather

John Buckle found this striped one locally and tried using the Seek app to identify it: it came back with an ID of Tawny Owl. ‘Looks like a primary wing feather, but there were no others nearby.’

Sam Sam found these gorgeous feathers from a Scarlet Ibis, on a walk around Regent’s Park and London Zoo.

Samantha Noury found the smallest but perfectly formed feather (1p piece for scale) and various others for her collection.

Elaine Reeve gets lots of Indian ringed parakeets where she lives in northwest Kent, raiding the bird feeders. They leave feathery gifts behind.

Capture a hare (on camera)

Margaret Vickers says this chap ‘stopped, and stayed very still in the hope that I hadn’t seen him. But I had!’

Viv Godby spotted this cheeky one, ‘obviously was expressing his/her opinion of me trying to get a photo!’

Michelle Devon captured this hare near Driffield on the Yorkshire Wolds.

Kerri Clemons walked on a wild route where there were plenty of carcasses around, I am guessing some might not like to see these. Carcass and the Hare?
