Make your own patterned card with washi tape

When you’re designing a greeting, one of the most important elements to consider is the sentiment – after all, the whole point of a card is to celebrate a special occasion or to let the recipient know how much they mean to you. That’s why we’re delighted with our latest gift to you, a stamp sheet with a whopping 105 sentiments to mix and match! To show just how versatile they are, we gave crafty gurus Kitty Day and Sarah Jackman Read a set each to play with and we think you’ll be just as impressed as we are with the results. Get inspired by the 13 beautiful cards on these pages and overleaf, then see what you create! Don’t forget, you can also download your gift as digi stamps at crafts-beautiful.com.

1 Cover white card with floral washi tape. Emboss peach card with a stitched circles embossing folder. Attach both pieces onto mauve card and glue to a white blank. Stamp ‘To a fabulous friend’ on white, mount onto mauve card and fix to the blank. Trim a matching flower from the washi tape and attach at the bottom-right. Add pink gems in each of the corners.

2 Cover a top-folding white card base with lined paper, then matt silver mirri card on top. Trim white card slightly smaller, then stamp ‘Happy Anniversary’ at the bottom in pink. Stamp ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ across the top in pink, then blend a little pink ink over the top half. Stamp ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ repeatedly in black, then adhere the panel to the blank. Stamp and heat emboss ‘On Your Special Day’ with silver powder on pink card. Die-cut into a heart and attach near the top-right with foam pads. Finish with silver gems scattered across.

3 Mount floral and pink dotty papers onto peach card and glue onto a white card base. Die-cut a peach scalloped border, fix across the join between the patterned papers, and adhere a silver gem onto each scallop. Layer pink striped paper onto a white die-cut scalloped rectangle and stick onto the card. Stamp ‘You’re So Awesome’ on white card and attach to the rectangle. Trim two flowers from floral paper and glue onto the rectangle corners.

4 Score and fold the front of a 12cm square top-folding white blank in half to create an easel card. Cover the front with pink check paper. Trim a 10.5cm white square, stamp ‘love’ repeatedly with embossing ink, then emboss with silver powder. Layer the panel on silver mirri card. Matt a 7.5cm pink patterned circle onto an 8cm silver mirri circle and attach to the embossed panel with foam pads. Stamp and emboss ‘Congratulations’
