YOUR GUIDE TO THE MONTH’S UNMISSABLE ENTERTAINMENT

More Reacher than Tom Cruise could manage

PREVIEW

PRIME VIDEO, STREAMING FROM 15 DECEMBER

The first season of Reacher was an unexpected treat for fans of the Lee Child books. It very quickly became one of the top five most-watched original series on Prime, and it wasn’t hard to see why.

As much as we (controversially) enjoyed Tom Cruise’s take on the veteran military police investigator in the films, there was no doubt that man-mountain Alan Ritchson fulfilled the brief way better. It also delivered high-octane thrills in abundance, so we have high hopes for this new eight-part series.

Season two is based on the book Bad Luck And Trouble, and sees our titular hero receive amessage that members of his former US Army unit are being murdered. Pulled from his drifter lifestyle, Reacher reunites with some of his former teammates to investigate, including Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan, Ballers), aforensic accountant who Reacher has asoft spot for, and fast-talking David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos, The Vampire Diaries). As the stakes keep getting higher, they must uncover who has betrayed them before someone else dies. All we can say is, we pity the fool who decided to mess with these Special Investigators.
