REBECCA AUBORN IS ACCUSED OF KILLING AT LEAST FOUR MEN
Don’t buy sex in Ohio. It ruins lives –and could cost yours.” These were the words of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost at apress conference following the arrest of suspected serial killer Rebecca Auborn. Currently behind bars at Franklin County Jail awaiting trial over the deaths of four men, Auborn, 33, has been charged with four counts of murder, four counts of involuntary manslaughter, five counts of aggravated robbery, five counts of felonious assault, five counts of corrupting another with drugs, one count of tampering with evidence and four counts of trafficking in drugs. Appearing before ajudge last month, Auborn, from Columbus, Ohio, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Police believe the mother of one –whose second child died at just 18 days old –killed the men after meeting them under the guise of a paid-for sexual encounter. Auborn had reportedly been carrying out sex work in hotels in Northeast Columbus, though she has no previous criminal record. It’s been alleged that she drugged and robbed the men, who died of overdoses. All the victims were found to have fentanyl in their systems.
MULTIPLE DEATHS
The first victim was discovered on 15 January 2023, when police attended block 2900 Azelda Street, following reports aman had overdosed in his home. When they arrived, they found Joseph Crumpler, 30, fighting for his life. He was taken to hospital, where he later died. Court documents state that, during interviews with detectives on 31 March, Auborn admitted to lacing the man’s crackpipe with fentanyl, stealing his car and credit cards while he overdosed. On 1April, Robert Snoke, 54, was found dead in ahotel room in Clara Street, and he was found to have cocaine in his system at time of death. On 13 April, Auborn allegedly gave Wayne Akin, 64, fentanyl at his apartment in the 4300 block of Chesford Road. He was found dead on 17 April –his birthday. On 17 June, Guy Renda, 42, was discovered deceased on the street
