Find photos fast by keeping your images organised with this powerful software
In these trigger-happy days of digital photography, keeping tabs on your sprawling image I library can be a headache– finding a particular shot you vaguely remember taking can become an impossible task. Mylio Photos solves this by collating all your photos and videos into an organised library that’s easy to search.
This clever software takes the work out of organising your library. Your photos are automatically arranged by date and folder and, if your library is in chaos, Mylio Photos can auto-organise folders and remove duplicates. The software also connects to social media and photo-sharing sites and imports everything you’ve already shared.
Editing tools automatically enhance your images so they look their best, with easy presets to speed up editing. There are tools for fixing white balance, tone, colour and vignetting, as well as removing noise and sharpening image details for clearer photos.
With one click, your photos are ready to send with the Share menu, from where you can find all your favourite apps and tools. Mylio Photos is free, but with a Mylio Photos+ subscription, you can sync and back up your library across multiple devices, among other great features.
1 Addyour images
Click the Add Media icon (a ‘+’ symbol). Click ‘Add media accessible from this device’, then navigate to the folder or external hard drive where you store your images. You have the option to Link, Copy or Move. We suggest using the Link option to start with: this leaves the original files where they are but displays them in Mylio Photos.
2 QuickFilters& Search
The QuickFilters tool helps you find photos based on criteria including date, event, person, category, ratings and more. It works with the image’s metadata as well as info such as people and location tags. The Search tool also uses data from SmartTags and Optical Character Recognition to find visual traits, objects and words in the images.
3 Basicedits
Mylio Photos allows you to edit both jpeg and raw images. Click the Edit tab in the right panel to make basic corrections, including white balance, exposure and red-eye removal. You can also display an image histogram and apply a selection of one-click presets to apply automatic enhancements.
