Digital Camera readers show how they’ve been getting creative, submitting images across a range of genres

1 ‘Serenity’ by Tony Britton

“In this image, I wanted to emphasize the soft morning light and capture the sense of serenity I felt while composing this shot. It was photographed with my Sony DSC-RX10 M4.”

Digital Camera says:

This is a beautifully atmospheric shot. The light passing over the face of the frog, coupled with the transparency and reflections in the water, make this a really visually eye-catching photo.

2 ‘Welcome to the Underground’ by Natalia Zmyslowska

“The Dark Matter museum in Berlin hosts the ‘Sommerlights’ open-air exhibition. The multimedia light art installation is rhythmically matched to the music on the stage. It transforms its shape, colour, and frequency and transports you to an underground club in a cyberpunk world.” Instagram: @theworldwithnat.com

Digital Camera says:

A beautifully lit photo, capturing this modern light installation above a crowd of visitors to create an eerie and ambient feel. The viewer is invited to guess what this scene actually is, and the phone screens among the crowd lend an interesting narrative to the image, while expressing the creativity of the art scene in Berlin. This is a great example of documentary-style photography at its best.

Digital Camera says:

A fantastic macro image, beautifully captured with strong colours and hues of yellows and blues, giving an image with good clarity. The bubbles are clearly defined against the black backdrop.

4 ‘Untitled’ by Kimberley Link

“Here’s my take on frozen flower photography. It was shot using a Canon EOS 90D, a Canon EF 17-35 f/2.8L lens and an LED spotlight. The session quickly turned into more of an abstract and macro experiment, but I loved it – it was so much fun!”

Digital Camera says:

This capture of a flower in ice is pleasingly composed. Shooting horizontally has created bands across the image and the crystallisation around the petals makes this an interesting capture. For more information on this technique, see Photo Active project 2 (page 12).

5 ‘Calascibetta at Sunrise’ by Ralph Cowden
