Talk about a winning combination: tan, caramel-like brown paired with bolts of cobalt blue is the flirty yet reassuring colour palette you’ve been looking for all winter. And the two tones aren’t just great for interiors – as the weather gets warmer, they’ll form the ideal scheme for outdoor furnishings, too

The inspiration

Providing people with a ‘gentle punch’ was Note Design’s invigorating approach to the interior of The Office Group’s Douglas House, a six-storey co-working office near Marylebone. The space’s members were welcomed by contrasting materials, colours and forms – a signature move for the Stockholm-based studio widely recognised for its bold and attention-grabbing designs. Tan-brown paint shades with subtly sweet toffee tones were combined with dark woods and seating in sky blue and cobalt. It’s a colour palette that could not be more timely: caramel hues and electrifying blues are both having a moment. Together, they create a comfortable and calm yet mentally stimulating environment. notedesignstudio.se
