There aren’t as many extensions for the iPhone and iPad as there are for the Mac, but here’s some interesting ones.

Accessing Your Extensions

To access an extension from within Safari, on your iPad or iPhone, tap the jigsaw icon found in the search/URL field. A window pops up showing the extensions you have installed and switched on. Tap the one you want to use.

BlockBear!

Price: Free

By blocking invasive and intrusive ads, BlockBear! can make websites load around three to five times faster. It also stops websites tracking you. Trusted sites can be whitelisted, and it can be customised to suit your needs.

Bring!

Price: Free (IAP)

The Bring! app lets you create and share shopping lists on your mobile device. The Safari extension for iPhone and iPad makes importing recipes even easier. Find a compatible recipe and import the ingredients into Bring!

Price: Free (IAP)

The popular extension for correcting your grammar, and improving your writing, is also available on mobile versions of Safari. It can identify spelling and grammatical errors, find synonyms, reduce superfluous words and more.

Speechify

Price: Free (IAP)

Tap the Speechify icon in the Search/URL field to get a Play button in the bottom-right corner. Tap this icon and the website is read to you. It’s not perfect, but it could be a real boon for those with sight impairments.

Noir

Price: £2.49, $2.99, 2,99 €

With Noir, you can add a dark mode for every Safari website you visit. This is created automatically on a per-site basis, based on the colours that particular site uses. It makes web browsing at night a lot more comfortable on the eyes.
