FIVE MINUTES WITH…

Who is the best player you’ve played with?

Scottie Scheffler. I played with Scottie a bunch of times during my Korn Ferry days. I believe he graduated after his first year so it might have been 2019. I played with him probably five or six times and it was just very impressive. Every time you came off it was 65, 66, 67, 65. It was just very impressive.

What are your lowest rounds on and off tour?

I played a Korn Ferry event in 2022 and shot an 11-under 61. 61 is my lowest round off tour, too. I’ve done it at Wynyard just with friends.

What is your favourite tournament or course?

I’d say The Players at TPC Sawgrass. It’s such an iconic venue. I’ve only played it once and it was just incredible. There’s just a very different feel to the event and the golf course is absolutely pristine.

What is your best tip for amateur golfers?

I would say when they’re at the driving range it’s to not just hit ball after ball but to have a goal and a purpose. Work smart, not by volume. You see so many amateurs at every driving range just go one after the other – bang, bang, bang. And they’re not even taking note of what happened to the golf ball or why it’s done what it’s done. They’ll look around as if to say, ‘Ah, that was rubbish,’ and you think, ‘Well, you should learn from each shot.’ That’s what we do as pros and that’s how we hone our games.
