Lillith Poppy Red rug from £285

Tell us about the new collection...

This year is Laura Ashley’s 70th Anniversary, and we’re marking it with our Joyful Home story, which includes a beautiful Tulips print that’s a playful mix with daffodils and narcissus. The colours have a fresh, bright and modern feel, but with a nod to the brand’s nostalgic past –the original design was first introduced in the 90s, inspired by a piece of artwork found in the Laura Ashley archive.

So does the archive influence the creative process? Yes, we’re constantly influenced by our rich design heritage, and I love immersing myself in the archive’s colours and patterns. It’s wonderful to find the smallest antique swatch, then have fun interpreting it for today’s market.

What can we expect from the brand next?

New product launches include a tile collection featuring some of our most iconic prints, and we also have some exciting collaborations in the pipeline, which we know our loyal fans will love.

Who’s your design hero? I’m hugely inspired by our founder herself, Laura Ashley – it really was a dream role when I joined the brand back in 2012. Laura admitted she couldn’t draw or paint, but that made her no less of a designer – her timeless style is ever evolving.

Where’s your favourite place for inspiration?

I lov
