Make a statement

A brilliantly bold tree will create a focal (and talking) point in your space. From colourful designs featuring every shade of the rainbow to sparkling gold options with metallic branches that reflect fairy lights, a flamboyant tree immediately catches your eye. How the tree is trimmed is particularly important; while luxury baubles in bright hues will create something quite spectacular, you can still dress the gold tree shown left in red and green for a more reserved and traditional look.

Point of di fference

For a tree that’s truly alternative, how about a quirky, design-led style? Those featuring branches (without foliage) have a pared-back look, while graphic metallic trees have a distinctly modern feel – The White Company and Oliver Bonas have excellent options. You can keep things minimal, or create a playful showpiece by adding decorations in different shapes, sizes and colours to bring the silhouettes of these trees to life.

Small wonder

The trend for miniature trees is growing.
