After reading Why The Care Crisis Matters To All Of Us (June) I felt compelled to write. My dad had prostate cancer, which ate away his body slowly over two years. I was 44 at the time and my youngest daughter was just 10. I had to give up my work, which I loved, to help my mum, who was struggling. I never for one moment thought I was a carer – Ijust knew they both needed me. Thank you for such a real, truthful, raw and emotional article.

Having been outed as a ‘Spendy Wendy’ in the May issue (Change Your Money Mindset For Good!), I thought I’d share my spending habits. I have discovered buying online from charity websites and greatly enjoy receiving lovely brown parcels. Often the goods exceed my expectations. I think charity shops and their online sites are wonderful as everyone is a winner. Wardrobes are decluttered, people can buy things they couldn’t afford to buy new and the charity gets much-needed funds.

Reeta sparkles on our TV screens and at our photoshoot

I was delighted to see a feature on Reeta Chakrabarti (June) and her busy home and career life. She has the most measured, informative and reassuring delivery on TV, which she combines with warmth and humour. I wish we could see more of her, though I’d be loath to increase her significant workload! Her amazing youthfulness was demonstrated beautifully in the photoshoot.
