Polytunnel for under a tenner

Before

“Here is my new polytunnel, 4.5 metres long by 2.6 metres wide, which me and my pal Les have been building during the last couple of months using 90 per cent recycled materials that I already had on the allotment. The frame was made out of old water pipe tube, and the door was the shower door to my daughter’s old shower room after refurbishment. The timber frame and window had been lying around for ages, so we have put it all to good use, and covered the lot with some fine netting. I did have to buy a few screws and staples, but the job cost me under a tenner, and I am looking forward to using it in 2023.”

Homemade success

Here is a follow-up picture of my sweetcorn growing in my 3-in-1 IBC raised veg bed. See also pictures of my homemade self-watering system in my polytunnel, which I have tested out now for two growing seasons (so I know it works) and have extended this week.
