When we’re rushing around with limited time in the bathroom, it’s easy to neglect certain areas of our grooming routine. They might not be everyday essentials like deodorant, shower gel or moisturising dry skin, but it’s important to keep on top of them for both health reasons and to keep yourself looking your best. So here are my top five areas men forget to groom, and a guide to keeping on top of them.

YOUR EYES

The skin around the eyes is often forgotten, as when we apply our facial moisturiser, we can do so quickly and unintentionally miss this area – or else we think we should avoid it altogether. The skin here requires special care as it’s more delicate, so it’s best to try a specific moisturising serum designed for this purpose. Not only will you look fresher, you will be helping to keep the skin younger as this is one of the first areas to show the natural signs of ageing. Applying a serum first thing in the morning can really wake up the eyes, too. Try Q+A Natural Skincare Caffeine Eye Serum (£6.50, 15ml, 24 points). The caffeine de-puffs, helps brighten dark circles, and is lightly moisturising. The applicator makes it quick and easy to apply gently all around the eye socket when you are in a rush.

YOUR FEET

For many of us, cutting our toenails once a month is the most attention that our feet ever get. Wearing flip-flops in public shower spaces can help avoid bacterial and fungal infections that can cause things like athlete’s foot. Keeping short toenails also helps, but foot care should mean much more than that.

If you’re a runner, you may be used to paying your feet a bit more attention. Hard skin on the soles and balls of your feet can be uncomfortable and so a decent moisturiser helps – and we aren’t just talking a loofah treatment either. Pick yourself up a soft bristle brush with a pumice-stone back to get all the excess gross stuff off your feet.

Even if you’re not big on moisturising, when it comes to your feet you need to make an exception. Aside from helping reduce the occurrence of physical skin conditions like calluses and corns, healthy skin is also less prone to fungal or viral infections.

Finally, if you are worried about foot odour try Salt Of The Earth Foot Spra
