Selena Gomez’s new documentary My Mind & Me covers a lot of ground.But surprisingly,hereight- year on/off relationship with Justin Bieber – which spanned from 2010 until 2018 – is a topic that is only briefly touched upon. And while JB might have been spared a lambasting from his ex, we’re told the documentary triggered feelings of intense guilt for the Baby singer.

“Everyone knows Selena was head-over-heels in love with Justin for a huge chunk of her life,” an insider tellsheat. “They had a really dysfunctional relationship – he was far from a good boyfriend and he knows it, which is why he feels so bad. Selena chose not to speak about it inanydepth, because it was too traumatic for her to go over that ground again. Justin knows he dodged a bullet.”

The documentary, which focuses on Selena’s physical and mental health journey, was filmed over six years, starting in 2016. And the 30 year old hit headlines after the release for failing to shout out her BFF, actress Francia Raisa, who donated a kidney to Selena in 2017 during the singer’s battle with autoimmune disease lupus. In the documentary, Selena says her “only friend in the industry is Taylor [Swift]”, which seems to have left Francia feeling left out.

While the intricate details of Selena and Justin’s relationship were not covered in the film, the singer and actress did discuss moving on from their long-term romance, saying, “I feel like I had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever.
