Why we’re all talking about simon’s face

He’s normally judging others, but everyone’s got an opinion

He looked very different last week

He may be British born and bred, but Simon Cowell is Holly wood through and through –from his golden tan to his wrinkle-free forehead and alabaster white veneers.

Yet, last week, the 64 year old’s changing face shocked more than ever during Saturday Night Takeaway. Having been pranked twice by Ant & Dec, Simon joined them in the studio. But, according to Twitter, it was his “waxy” face that stole the show, with fans quipping that he looked like he was “melting” or was adead ringer for a “ventriloquist dummy”. Now, we’re told, those close to him are worried he’s going too far in his pursuit of eternal youth.

“Image is everything to Simon,” says an insider close to the TV judge, whose homes in the UK and the US are reportedly filled with mirrors and pictures of himself. “He’s such aperfectionist, and it doesn’t help that he spends the majority of his time in LA, where everyone he knows gets all these same procedures done. They egg each other on and the puff y face and shiny skin gets normalised.”

As normal as that may be in LA, Simon stood out over here last week –and it wasn’t just TV viewers airing their bemusement. When guest announcer Stephen Merchant was asked by Ant &Dec if he’d enjoyed their pranks, which involved them employing afake police officer to stop Simon while he was riding his bike, and also tasked afake magician with locking him in ametal box on an episode of America’s Got Talent, the comedian deadpanned, “I didn’t like it, Iloved it.” He then quipped, “It’s my Cowell impression, but it’s not very convincing because my face moved.”
