Harry & Meghan’s NEW FURY: ‘THEY CAN’T LEAVE US OUT’

The pair question on their future as the King considers his succession

Harry: could make an emergency royal return

After adouble whammy last week of reports that King Charles has been revising his succession plan, and then a “personal matter” that saw Prince William pull out of appearing at his late godfather’s memorial, the world is more worried than ever about the royal family.

While the King’s succession plan –which deals with who will ascend to the throne after him – appears straightforward, with Prince William, 41, first in line, and young Prince George, ten, set to reign after him, complications could arise. Many have called into question the “regency plan”, asking who would rule in a situation where the next in line was too young. And in ascenario where both Charles, 75, and William were unable to be King, fifth-in-line Prince Harry (the next adult in the line of succession) could find himself regent until his nephew George reaches 18.

A source tells heat, “If that nightmare scenario were to happen, Harry would need to return to the UK under the terms of the regency plan, serving as steward of the throne until George was able to rule. As unthinkable and awful as that hypothetical scenario may be, it’s being taken seriously enough for the King to put acontingency in place.”

Our insider adds that, no matter how unlikely it may be, Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, have been left questioning where they fit into the monarch’s plans. It was reported that the Duke of Sussex had been left out of the talks as the royal family did not trust him, following his and Meghan’s repeated attacks on the crown. “Harry knows that his father may be working on his succession plan, as he reads the news like everyone else and still has contacts at the palace. He understands the need for total discretion and isn’t expecting ablow-by-blow breakdown of everything, but it’s still jarring to know that he and Meghan are out of the loop –especially as this has the potential to affect their lives massively.”

But while our source says Harry and Meghan are feeling left out, royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells heat that any talks taking place will be “tentative” but necessary, due to the King being out of action while he’s being treated for an undisclosed type of cancer.

“I remember talking about how the late Queen must feel so calm that the succession looked absolutely secure,” she says. “Suddenly, we’ve had the health crises that have happened with Charles and with Kate [who’s still recovering from serious abdominal surgery], and because of this, the focus has been on the future.
