Celebs are just like us?
As if they’d press their own elevator buttons
CHILL, BEY
Sasha Fierce may just be an onstage persona, but you’d better believe Beyoncé’s claws are out if she’s not adequately hydrated. According to insiders, while the superstar is on tour, she asks for her water to be chilled to 210C and served through $900 titanium straws. At least she’s saving on plastic, if not expenses.
Oh celebrities, they’re just like us, we hear you say. They put their trousers on one leg at a time, and eat, sleep and use the loo like the rest of humankind, right?
Wrong. In fact, famous people are a special species of superhuman – the kind that gets away with the most batshit crazy demands one could ever make up, sending an entourage of minions flying hither and thither to satisfy their every whim. What’s more, he apparently refuses to share an elevator with anyone else – which, like alonely lift heading for the basement floor – only makes him go down in our estimation.
CRUISE CONTROL
Poor Tom Cruise –all he wanted was to eat his dinner in peace when he docked at the five-star Forza Mare hotel in Montenegro in 2012 and asked management to clear out all the guests. The manager politely declined, and the actor was forced to enjoy his seafood feast on his yacht instead. Oh, the indignity.
CHIP OFF THE OLD BRIT
Britney Spears gave anod to her British surroundings when she performed at the 02 Arena back in 2011, requesting fish and chips and, er, aframed picture of Princess Diana backstage, with insiders explaining “Diana was in many ways her inspiration.” She also asked for 100 prunes and figs, so at least we
