Despite being pulled from pillar to post as his status soars, Sam Thompson still gives off his trademark golden retriever energy when we chat in Bauer’s swish new Hits radio station HQ.
Since taking the I’m A Celeb crown in December, the Made In Chelsea legend, 31, has not stopped. When he’s not playing hits on the radio, he’s bringing good vibes in his new This Morning presenting gig and stepping up to the plate with his impressive Cash For Kids challenge. But perhaps most vitally, Sam also has to factor in getting that all-important TikTok content withgirlfriend Zara McDermott, and his best pal and Staying Relevant podcast co-host Pete Wicks…
Zara has just launched her own lifestyle brand – has she roped you in to promote it?

Maybe. I will say this – we all get along really well. Obviously I do, as she’s my missus, but Pete gets along with her so well, as well. We are literally like three best mates. She had a big photo shoot for the brand and Pete was going along, but had no idea what she had planned. Shetoldme whatshehad in mind, and I went, “If I can’t get him to do this, you have no chance.” But Pete actually can’t say no to Zara. I have to literally beg him to do content for me. I have to call his agent, and even pay him sometimes. It’s a struggle. But Zara just went, “Pete, please, I’m really sorry to ask you this...” He just did it and I was like, “You’re such a crumbler.”
He told us you would get jealous if he started dating someone…
That’s so not true. I’ve been on a double date with Pete, as much as he won’t want me to say. He’s so soppy! It’s lovely. I love to see it. You just don’t expect it. It didn’t work out with this lady in question, but seeing the big old fat smile on his face was lovely. I wouldn’t be jealous at all, as long as I got some of his time. Actually, if he started spending less time with me and more time with a missus, that would mean less content, and content is king.
