Meghan’s power move ‘we need to win the beckhams back’

Because what’s a Hollywood takeover without a Posh and Becks alliance?

All eyes were on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently as the couple enjoyed a glamorous weekend attending the annual Sentebale Polo Cup in Wellington, Florida. Dressed up to the nines, with a super-groomed Meghan proudly showcasing the efforts of her newly recruited stylist Jamie Mizrahi, the couple were back to their camera-perfect best, sealing Harry’s match win with a kiss.

But Meghan wasn’t alone in cheering on her husband. For the prestigious charity match, the Sussexes also invited a full Netflix crew to shoot footage for an upcoming project focusing on the “world of professional polo”, as part of their $100million deal with the streaminggiant.

After a series of knockbacks last year, Brand Sussex appears to be undergoing a renaissance. Not only are the couple expanding their Netflix portfolio, Meghan has also launched her own lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which kicked off with the Duchess sending jars of strawberry jam to influencers across the States. But while their big reboot is looking like a success so far, there’s one thing Harry and Meghan have been advised they need – more big-name celebrities on their side. And, sources tell heat, former Sussex allies David and Victoria Beckham are top of the hit list.

Following the now-infamous severing of ties between the couples, an insider close to the Sussexes tells us, “Meghan is desperate to repair the relationship. She’s been advised by her new PR team that she needs to cultivate some friendships with high-profile British celebrities, but there aren’t a whole lot who interest her – certainly no one like the Beckhams. Vic’s got the sort of multinational brand that Meghan wants to have, so getting her advice and guidance would be invaluable. If she can patch things up with them, she intends to offer her something in return. At the moment, Meghan doesn’t have nearly the social media presence that Vic does, but she’s planning to pour a whole lot of money into her marketing, so she’s confident her numbers will go up. She hopes to be able to offer Vic some great cross-brand promo opportunities.”

They want to bring Becksy back

Celeb feud followers will remember that the Beckham-Sussex alliance was ruptured a few years back, despite becoming close friends. Having been two of Harry and Meghan’s most high-profile wedding guests in 2018, Victoria, 50, and David, 48 – who are parents to Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and 12-year-old Harper – were reportedly blindsided when the Sussexes allegedly accused Vic of selling stories about them. David, in particular, was reportedly “enraged” beyond all measure, especially since he’d long enjoyed a close friendship with Prince Harry, and had even been an ambassador for his Invictus Games.
