After being part of the first wave of fashion bloggers, Giorgina Clavarino used her expertise to become an in-demand influencer and brand consultant

We speak with Giorgina Clavarino, the London-based Italianraised content creator and brand consultant. As one of what she describes as “earlybird bloggers” Giorgina launched her blog Giorgina With an Eye in the early 2010s and now has 164k followers on Instagram.

Have you always been interested in fashion?

I think being Italian makes it part of your DNA. By the age of five I already had an opinion on my clothes. I recently found pictures of myself at a very young age wearing straw bags and sunglasses to match my dresses; and I’d stack my arm with candy-coloured bracelets that I’d made myself.

How did you start blogging?

Before Instagram, having a fashion blog was the thing. I was influenced by the first generation of bloggers in the US, and wanted to start something similar as a passion project. Slowly, as Instagram began to penetrate the market, I moved onto that platform. At first I would shoot content with my best friend Aldo Silvestroni with an old camera in my backyard, as I was too shy to take photos in public. I then slowly became accustomed to it, because nobody really cared that I was posing in the street.

How would you summarise your career?

I work full-time as a consultant helping brands reimagine future visions to better position themselves. And I also snap photos of my daily life: outfits, preferred beauty products and insights into my travels and holidays with friends.

What are your wardrobe staples?

I have a few pieces that often appear in my fashion repertoire. A classic tailored blazer, as it is a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down; vintage-inspired dresses that convey a feminine and retro charm; and a perfect pair of jeans.

Who are your fashion icons?

I’ve always loved Jane Birkin’s effortless bohemian style, she often favoured comfort and ease over trends. I’m obsessed with Elvis Presley’s flamboyant yet polished aesthetic that allowed him to express his large
