Kate beams alongside Prince Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte in a photo released to mark Mother’s Day. The children, seen waving during last year’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant (below), could play a role in the coronation of the King and Queen Consort (above) in May

I t will be a day that goes down in history when King Charles III is crowned alongside Queen Camilla on 6 May.

The streets of London will be thronged with people hoping to catch a glimpse of his magnificent procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

And it seems they will be treated to the sight of the three smallest stars of the show – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – as well as that of Their Majesties in the Gold State Coach.

According to planning documents seen by The Times, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s three children will play some part in the spectacle after attending the religious ceremony that will see “Grandpa Wales” become the 40th reigning monarch to be crowned at the abbey.

BOUNDLESS LOVE

Reports of their participation came as Kate shared two adorable images of herself with her brood to mark Mother’s Day.

Taken by Matt Porteous, the photos show the future Queen sitting in the branches of a tree with her two sons and daughter. Another shows the Princess gazing adoringly at Louis as she carries him in her arms.

They were shared on social media by Kate, who captioned them: “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours.”

The young Princes and Princess already have some experience of major events, having practised their royal waves as they enjoyed a carriage ride down The Mall to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last June.

George, nine, and Charlotte, seven, both walked behind the late monarch’s coffin at her funeral in September. William and Kate’s two eldest children also joined the congregation in the abbey for their mother’s Royal Carols: Together at Christmas concert in December.

Meanwhile, little Louis, who turns five on 23 April, delighted TV viewers last year with his antics on the palace balcony, pulling funny faces and clamping his hands over his ears as the Queen and her family watched an RAF flypast after Trooping the Colour, then bouncing on his grandfather’s knee while watching the Platinum Jubilee
