I t is always one of the most elegant social events of the season, and this year’s Monaco Rose Ball was no exception as hostess Princess Caroline of Hanover, 66, presided over a spectacular party with a Bollywood theme created by artistic director Christian Louboutin.

And it was her glamorous children who stole the show as they enjoyed the charity event in the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo club, with eldest daughter Charlotte Casiraghi, 36, looking stunning in a stylish Chanel gown with a feather-trimmed hem.

The royal, who is mum to sons Raphaël, nine, and Balthazar, four, posed with her brother Andrea, 38, while their younger brother Pierre, 35, joined the celebrations with his wife, aristocratic journalist Beatrice Borromeo, 37, who looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder tiered maxi gown from Dior paired with a statement headpiece.

After turning heads with her stellar outfits while attending Paris Fashion Week last month, their half-sister Princess Alexandra, 23, once again drew attention in a gorgeous floor-length gown teamed with statement earrings as she arrived hand in hand with her beau Ben Sylvester Strautmann, 24.

With the extravagant venue transformed into a Jaipur-style paradise – complete with a recreation of the Hawa Mahal palace, vibrant red and orange roses and dancers dressed in brightly coloured saris – star guests including Dame Shirley Bassey and Spanish diva Isabel Pantoja enjoyed performances by the Rajasthani group Bassant.
